Preparation and characterization of atenolol selective electrode
Atenolol ion selective electrodes have been prepared based on phosphotungistic acid using many plasticizers which were:Di-butylphosphate (DBP), Tri-butylphosphate (TBP),o-nitrophenyloctylether (ONPOE) and Di-octylphthalate (DOP).The properties of the prepared electrodes have been studied including: slope, concentration range, detection limit, life time, and pH effect. The electrodes no.
Alteration in polyamines and enzymes in human breast cancer serum
Polyamines, spermidine and spermine constitute a group of cell components that are important in the regulation of cell proliferation and cell differentiation. The enzyme superoxide dismutase catalyzed the breakdown of superoxide anion (O2-) and provides the first line of defense against oxygen toxicity. This work is an attempt to look for possible biochemical marker and causes of breast cancer based on the above polyamines. The levels of spermine and spermidine and superoxide dismutase levels were measured in serum of two women groups.
PHOTO PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN FROM HYDROGEN SULFIDE IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF MONOETHANOLAMINE USING TITANIUM DIOXIDE AS PHOTOCATALYST
In the present work, the production of hydrogen fuel from photodecomposition of hydrogen sulfide in aqueous solution of monoethanolamine, using titanium dioxide as photocatalyst has been investigated. The influence of various parameters such as the percentage of monoethanolamine, the load of the catalyst, the effect of addition of sensitizer, the effect of addition of an oxidant and the increase of temperature is also studied. Al photochemical experiments have been carried out in a Pyrex cylinder cell of capacity 35mL.
Synthesis and ab-initio Study of PD (II) and Ni (II) Dithiooxamide Complexes
(II) complexes have played an important role in recent experimental and theoretical attempts to characterize the electronic structure of square planar complexes .
Synthesis and characterization of some homo-and hetero-mono-and trinuclear metal complexes with 4-phenyl-5-(p-aminophenyl)-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole
Taking in account the role the transition metal ion takes place in medicine, especially those of Ni+2, Cu+2, Pt+2, Pd+2,that in addition to those essential for mammalian life , N, S, P and Cl-, it was decided to prepare a series of new homo-and hetero-polynuclear complexes including these elements with the substituted triazole ring, to show the possible structural phenomena and biological effect of the ligand. 3-Mercapto-5-(P-aminophenyl )-1,2,4-triazole (ATRZ) have been prepare starting from ethyl benzoate.
SYNTHESIS AND BIOLIGICAL EVALUATION OF SOME NEW 1,3,4-OXADIAZOLE COMPOUNDS DERIVED FROM DIFFERENT AMINO ACIDS
New 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-oxadiazoles derived from amino acids carrying phenyl group at position (2) and benzamido, alkyl moieties at position 5 which were synthesized as outlined below :Synthesis of benzamido carboxylic acid [1-5]:- Condensation of appropriate amino acid (p- amino benzoic acid, o- amino benzoic acid, valine, leucine, phenyl alanin) with benzoyl chloride gave the corresponding benzamido carboxylic acids, having the following structure formula :-
Effects of Titania (Anatase) on Structural & Superficial Properties of (VPO) Catalytic System
This work is a continuous of our previous work in M.Sc study. Our previous work was concerned with the use of locally produced V2O5 (technical grade) in the preparation of catalyst successfully employed in the oxidation of n-butane to Malice Anhydride. The catalyst was evaluated using geomechanic system (France) specially built for catalytic test and modified to our proposes. The results had indicated to a functional catalyst.
Synthesis and structural characterizatinof Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with N ,P and S donors.
Taking in account the basic ideas in coordination chemistry governing the structure and reactivity of these compounds especially those of Palladium and Platinum complexes, a new set of Pd(II) and Pt(II) square planar complexes with varying structural isomerism have been prepared and studied. Their structure and spectral behavior have been discussed based on hard and soft acid base principles, back π-bonding, and redox behavior.
Extraction, Isolation, and Characterization of Medicinal Components from Flowers of Matricaria Chamomile Plant
This study included extraction of total flavonoids compounds from Matricaria chamomile flowers that grown in Iraq. The extract was brown color crystals composition.
Extraction of Medicinal constituents from two Iraqi Herbs Datura stramonium and Atropa belladonna -A chemical study-
In this work two Iraqi plants (Datura Stramonium and atropa belladonna) has been studied. Extraction and isolation of atropine from these plants were investigated. The extraction was done using methanol as a solvent using soxlet apparatus. Atropine was identified by melting point which was found to be (113-116 o C) in Atropa belladonna and (114-118oC) in Datura stramonium which was in good agreement to the standard value (114-116C0).
