Handwritten character recognition system based on fourier and wavelet transforms

Abstract:The problem of handwritten recognition is considered to be very important problem because of its numerous applications and theoretical values in the domain of pattern recognition. This thesis presents a design to an off-line handwritten recognition system. It is designed to recognize handwritten styles of Latin script. The recognition responsibility of the proposed system is for 62 character classes [uppercases (A-Z), lowercase (a-z) and digits (0-9)]. The suggested system includes the essential stages needed for most of the pattern recognition systems.

Network based remote stepper motors control

Abstract: The virtual lab is one of the new fields developed to enhance the remote learning programs which have proved useful in terms of time and place bounds that come with the traditional learning systems. It provides students with access to execute experiments on remote laboratories via internet or network connections. A Virtual Lab system consists of three major parts: The server PC, the client PC and the lab devices. The server is connected to the client via Internet/network connection, and it’s also connected to the lab devices via a hardware port (such as the Parallel Port).

SCADA security using packet filtering firewall.

Abstract: This thesis focuses on implementing packet filtering firewall technique for protecting SCADA system. It uses filtering criteria to decide whether to permit or deny packets entry into the network. Parts of the packet that are examined are; the source IP address, the destination IP address, and the Internet protocols carried by the packet. At the beginning, the miniature SCADA system was implemented on two computers to take overview on the basic component of SCADA system, and to preview the data transmission between them.
