Effect of Probiotics on Bacterial Isolates Accompanying Dry Eye Syndrome

This study included collection of (60) swab samples taken from patients of dry eye syndrome referred to Ibn Al-Haetham Teaching Eye Hospital in Baghdad. Results showed that (53) of these samples were positive for bacterial occurrence after culturing on related selective media.Bacterial isolates were identified by cultural, microscopic and biochemical examinations. After confirming the conventional identification  by (Api) kits specified for each type of bacteria, the following species and percentage of bacteria were recorded :-

Investigating HLA Typing of Chronic Gastritis in a Sample of Iraqi Patients

The present study was proposed to investigte the role of human Leucocyte Antigen HLA-class I (A and B) and class II (DR) antigens and blood groop phenotypes in the aetiology of  chronic atrophic gastritis in a sample of Iraqi patients.The patients were also evaluated for total and absolute counts of leucocytes,immunophenotypes of lymphocytes(CD+,CD4=,CD8+andCD19+cells)and positivity of their sera for anti-Helicobacter pylori IgG antibody.
