Preparation and Characterization Of Liquid Crystalline Compounds as Stationary Phases in Gas Chromatography
This work involves the preparation of two liquid crystalline compounds, 4,4´-bis-(4-propoxybenzylidene amino)biphenyl (2b), and 2,5-bis-[4-(4´-propoxybenzylideneamino)phenyl]1,3,4-oxadiazole (1f).The prepared compounds were characterized qualitatively by using FTIR, 1HNMR, and elemental analysis (EA).
Simulation of Neutron Activation Analysis Using Monte Carlo Method and Application for Environmental Samples
Two neutron activation analysis systems were designed and studied. Americium-beryllium (Am-Be) was employed as a neutron source in both systems. Two different types of neutron sources (which differ in neutron flux) were used. One of them was used paraffin moderator which was theoretically simulated using Monte Carlo method by GEANT4 package program of objective oriented programming.
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF INSULIN – MIMETIC COMPOUNDS
Biomedical inorganic chemistry offers the potential for the design novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of diseases, which are currently intractable.Therapeutic metalodrugs have since long been employed to restore human physiology.
Synthesis and characterization of new cross linked polymers as stationary phases for HPLC separation
Two cross linked polymers were synthesized, the first polymer was synthesized by condensation reaction between glycerol triethanol amine with maleic anhydride. The second polymer was synthesized by addition polymerization of free radical for acrylamide, bisacrylamide with ammonium persulphate and N,N,N,N-tetramethyldiamine (TEMED). The products were characterized by FTIR & X-ray. The resulted polymer have high rigidity and easily grinded, with high stability and used as stationary phase for HPLC.
Synthesis and Characterization of New Heterocyclic Compounds Derived from Some Heterocyclic Amines and Evaluating of Biological Activity of Some Compounds
- preparation of thiazolidene-4-none (2) , imidazolidine-4-ones (3) , and oxazepine-4,7-diones (4) from schiff bases (1) by reaction with 2-mercaptoacetic acid ,glycine and malic anhydride respectively .
- preparation of 1-phenyl-3-hetero-2-yl urea and thiourea from reaction of hetero amines with phenylisocyanate and phenylisothiocyanate respectively .
Effect of Some Synthesized Urea, Thiourea and Schiff Bases Derivatives Against Proteus spp. from Urinary Tract Infections
Novel series of 14 (urea and thiourea) derivative compounds were prepared from reaction of urea and thiourea with aromatic amine compounds (homocyclic and heterocyclic), in addition to preparation of 6 Schiff bases (C=N) compounds that were prepared from reaction of some derived compounds with benzyldehyde in this study. All the 20 prepared compounds were characterized according to F.T.I.R.
A Study of Relationship between Leptin with Estradiol, Antioxidants (Selenium and Vitamin E) in the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients
Objective: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder of reproductive women. It is affecting from 5-10% of women in reproduction age. The symptoms include infertility, hirsutism and acne, menstrual abnormalities, Obesity and may cause endometrial cancer, cardiovascular disorder and diabetes mellitus. Leptin, the product of the ob gene, is a small peptide molecule synthesized by white adipose tissues with an important role in the regulation of fat body and food intake.
Synthesis and identification of five.six and seven membered ring 0f heterocyclic derivativese
Benzylidene compounds (Schiff bases),were prepared from the reaction of 2-hydroxy benzaldehyde with different primary amines, and elucidated by infrared spectroscopy.Ferric sulfate di-hydrate salt was reacted with those Schiff bases which produced the corresponding ferric complexes. These obtained complexes were elucidated by infrared spectroscopy and metal analysis. The prepared compounds were tested for antibacterial activity. The results obtained indicated that some of these compounds were more active than the others. And the biologi
