A study of the possibility of using diode lasers in tissue burn treatment

Abstract: The photobiostimulation is one of the interesting laser applications in medicine. Practically in Iraq there is no real attention paid to these medical applications of laser and there is no much knowledge about the benefits of the laser biostimulation of skin and tissue burn healing. This work focused on studying the effect of diode laser (637-785nm) with two different powers on the burn healing.

Finite element analysis of the total hip joint prostheses against fatigue fracture

Abstract: Forces applied to the implant due to human activity generate dynamic stresses varying in time and resulting in the fatigue failure of implant material. Therefore, it is important to ensure the hip prostheses against static, dynamic and fatigue failure. This study about two types of implants; the Austin Moore, cemented Thompson, and cementless Thompson hip replacements. The three dimensional solid models were built using AutoCAD 2007 software and then transferred to the finite element software (ANSYS Workbench).

Study of breast tumor diagnosis using optoacoustic technology

Abstract: Photonic technology plays an important role in the development of new medical diagnostic and therapeutic instruments. Readily available compact solid-state lasers and various types of light sources allow one to examine tissues in a clinical environment using new and emerging photonic technologies. The objective of this work is to provide theoretical and experimental procedure of laser optoacoustic imaging to address breast cancer diagnosis using thermo-acoustic imaging principles, where the analytical simulation and experimental results have been represented.
