Photocatalytic Oxidation of Phenol Red on Nanocrystalline TiO2 Particles
Various chemicals are discharged into the aquatic environment as industrial liquid wastes. Some of them are not only toxic but also partly biodegradable; therefore they are not easily removed in biological wastewater treatment plants. That is why there is a need to develop effective methods for the degradation of organic pollutants, render into less harmful compounds (non aromatic) or to their complete mineralization [1].Conventional processes to remove these pollutants involve physical, chemical, and biological methods.
