The global UI Green Metric ranking for universities has announced its 2024 results, which included 1,477 universities from 95 countries worldwide, including 78 Iraqi universities.
This ranking is based on six main criteria: campus infrastructure (15%), energy and climate change (21%), waste management (18%), water usage efficiency (10%), education, academic programs, and research (18%), and transportation within the campus (18%).
The results revealed that Al-Nahrain University secured a distinguished position in the ranking, reflecting its commitment to environmental quality and sustainability standards on campus. The university has made significant progress in energy management and sustainability-related academic research, highlighting its leadership role among Iraqi universities participating in the ranking.
This achievement is part of Al-Nahrain University’s ongoing efforts to enhance its standing in global rankings, aligning with its vision and mission to achieve comprehensive quality in education and research while contributing to the development of a sustainable and eco-friendly campus environment.
