Production, Purification, Characterization of Antibiotic from Locally Isolated of Actinomycetes spp. and Studying its Cytotoxicity and Antitumor Activity
Recently, the increase of the pathogens resistant to recent antimicrobial agents has become a health problem. Accordingly, the current study aimed at the isolation of local actinomycetes spp. that is capable of producing novel bioactive compounds, as well as investigating their biological (antimicrobial and anticancer) activities, in addition to, characterizing and partial purifiying the antimicrobials metabolites. Forty soil samples were collected in Garmian area, during the period from 2 nd to 15 th Feb. 2015.
Detection of Estrogen Receptor Alpha and Beta Gene Mutations in Iraqi Women with Breast Cancer
This study was aimed to determine the mutations and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in exon 4 and 6 of estrogen receptor alpha (ESR1) gene as well as exon 3 and 7 of estrogen receptor beta (ESR2) gene in Iraqi women with breast cancer. Different group of samples (25 of blood with FFPE from the same patient, 15 of fresh tissue with blood and FFPE from the same patient, and formalin fixed
Alteration of Biochemical Immunological and Molecular Markers of Chronic Lymphocytic leukemia in Sample of Iraqi Patients
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) is a monoclonal malignancy characterized by an accumulation of small and mature looking B lymphocytes in the blood, bone marrow and other tissues. The Blymphocytes developed in a wrong way lead to an immune disorder, and are typically characterized by expression of some of CD markers as (CD5,CD38 and ZAP-70) determined by immunophenotyping.
Cytotoxic Evaluation of Alchemilla vulgaris Flavonoids in Normal Blood Lymphocytes
The discovery and identification of a new drugs, which can potentiate the immune function has become an important goal of researches in immunepharmacology. This study demonstrates the favorable effects
A Comparative study between thyroid hormones and lipid profile in diabetes Type 2
This study focused on the survey of thyroid abnormalities symptoms (hypo and hyperthyroidism) and estimating the level of these hormones free tri-iodothyronine (FT3), free tetra-iodothroxine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) among type 2 diabetic Iraqi patients. Also the lipid profile triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels for these diabetic patients were compared with non diabetic healthy group.
Effect of Interleukin-10 -1082 A/G and Interleukin-12p40 1188 A/C Polymorphism on Susceptibility of Non- Hodgkin ’ s Lymphoma
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (NHLs) are a diverse group of mature lymphoid neoplasms with a wide range of cellular, immunological, histological, and molecular heterogeneity. Numerous environmental and
Association of Biochemical, Immunological Parameters and Genetic Polymorphism of the Gene Encoding Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Non Receptor 22 with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Iraqi Patients
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation and joint destruction. The aim of this study was to investigate some biochemical markers and mmunological parameters in Iraqi RA patients and effects of medical treatments on these parameters.
Effect of anti-lysozyme and IgA antibodies of tear film on microorganisms causing eye corneal infection
The study aimed to investigate the effect of anti-lysozyme and IgA antibodies in tear film on the occurrence and growth of microorganisms (bacteria and/or fungi) causing eye keratitis infection. For this purpose (105) corneal scraping samples were taken from patients suffering of microbial keratitis referred to Ibn Al-Haitham Eye Teaching Hospital in Baghdad.
Desu Dibe ulfuri enzot B izatio thiop Bacte on an hene erial I nd Ut e by S Isola tiliza Some ates ation e Loc of cal
The main aim of this study was obtaining efficient bacteria capable of desulfurizing and/or utilizing organosulfur compounds that found in petroleum and its derivatives. For this purpose oil contaminated soil samples with a history of oil pollution were collected from forty different sites in Iraq.Sixty three bacterial isolates were obtained and these isolates capable to utilize dibenzothiophene (DBT). Results showed that most of these isolates were capable to grow on DBT in the presence or without glycerol (carbon source).
Optimization and Genetic study on Locally Isolated Streptococcus mutans for Mutacin Production
In order to isolate Streptococcus mutans, 80 swab samples were collected from dental caries of patients attended Al-Dora Health Center and Al-Zewiya Health Center in Baghdad city. From these samples, 98 bacterial isolates were obtained. Results of identification depending on morphological, cultural and biochemical tests showed that 10 of these isolates were belonged to Streptococcus mutans. The results of identification were confirmed by using VITEK-Π system. All isolates were screened to examine their ability to mutacin production.
