Design and implementation of temperature process control

Abstract: The control systems that use some type of a computer is named computer-based control system. The computer-based system can provide monitoring, intervention control, or direct control of local loop element. It also can provide historical data summaries, data analysis and maintenance scheduling. This thesis introduces one of the control approaches which is ON/OFF control. a closed loop process control system was taken as a case study in this work in which a software program was implemented for monitoring and controlling the hardware suggested design.

Design of channelized voice over digital subscriber line

Abstract: Since a high-speed demand for data transmission is required, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) is a technology that provides a very high-speed digital data transmission using the regular telephone lines as the transmission media. The most promising of the xDSL technologies is Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL). ADSL was developed to offer a unique service to transport multi-phone line by combining number of plain old telephone signal (POTS) with a moderateamount of data to the client where this service known as Channelized Voice over DSL (CVoDSL).

Simulation of error detection and correction for ATM technology

Abstract: The rapid progress that is achieved in many fields of digital services and applications, especially in the area of audio-visual services and related applications, and the urgent need to communicate and transfer data at high speeds; all this led to the development of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) protocol. This Protocol is the adopted protocol by the Broadband-Integrated Services Digital Networks (B-ISDN) technology in transferring information through the network.

Design and implementation of an IRIS recognition system

Abstract:Intelligent recognition techniques, plays a significant role in multidisciplinary problem solving. In particular, various problems like character recognition, iris recognition, fingerprint recognition, signature recognition, and many others can be intelligently solved and automated. The objective of this thesis is to design and build iris recognition system which can be able to recognize the individuals by using artificial neural network. The iris recognition system consists of an automatic segmentation system that is based on the Daugman method.

Bandwidth allocation in B-ISDN using bandwidth contract algorithm

Abstract: Broadband – Integrated Service Digital Network (B-ISDN) based telecommunication systems support a variety of services. Such as: landline, computer data and video conferencing. This thesis deals with the Quality of Service (QoS) in B-ISDN from the traffic control perspective. The main goal is to allocate bandwidth to network users with bursty traffic characteristics using a dynamic traffic control algorithm called the Bandwidth Contracting Algorithm (BCA). The above algorithm has four types of contracts: Red, Yellow, Short Term Green (STG) and Long Term Green (LTG) contracts.

A genetic-based fuzzy membership set for a fuzzy logic control system

Abstract: Fuzzy logic and fuzzy control are incorporated in many forms to different applications. Whether it is used in design or modeling of systems, large number of parameters are needed to be specified in the design process. Among these parameters the selection of the membership types does not gained much attention as other parameters. This thesis will focus on this parameter and presents this approach to the design of a fuzzy logic controller based on a selection of membership function with different types for good performance of control systems.

Electronic modeling of human ear

Electronic model of human ear is a simplified representation of the auditory system for the purposes of analyzing this system. It allows one to observe more closely the behavior of the system and to make predictions regarding its performance under altered input conditions and different system parameters. Modeling of the human ear function has been described by adopting various approaches and a comparison between different models of the human ear was made.

Biomechanical concept design of artificial human hand

Abstract: This work is focused on the design parameters and activity of artificial human finger for seven types of grip; cylindrical, lifting box, push button, hook, spherical , tip and key. At first, obtained the ideal kinematics of human fingers motion by analyzing the grips video which were recorded using a single digital camera recorder fitted on a tripod in saggital plane while the hand is moving. A special motion analysis software (Dartfish) the finger joint angles was studied using the video recording.
