Abstract:

The aim of this project is to design a hardware system. for pattern recognition systems. Character recognition systems can be divided into three subsystems ; i-the character transformation device. ii- the information selector. iii- the recognition process. The project presents a method of Real Signal Processing (RSP) which may be used for character recognition. A Digital Frame Store Circuit (DFSC) was designed and implemented to store a discrete signal (image) in digitized form taken from an analog T-V camera, and deliver the discrete image to the 8085A microprocessor through a general purpose iterating device, the Intel 8255A (programmable peripheral interface). The DFSC and the programmable peripheral interface represent the character recognition system as hardware Software simulation written in assembly language was supported the system to satisfy the first element of the pattern recognition system (the transformation device.
