Under the auspices of the President of the University of Al- Nehrain Professor Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Sahib, the university celebrates its (28) anniversary and honors the creative talents with Al- Nehrain award.
The celebration activities have began on the big conference halls in the Jadiriyah complex with the speeches of the committee responsible for the best scientific achievements. The first speech has been presented by the Assistant Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdul Jabbar Ne'ama , in which he said, '' it is an honor and pride that we stand her today to honor a group of creative and talented professors and students, a day in which all the University's activities, with all its formations, will be preformed''.
He added that the university is proud of its achievements, for in spite of all the difficulties it continues to expand and thrive, based on scientific foundations along with the community's efforts to serve science and knowledge. Finally, he congratulated all the winners, professors and students, wishing for more progress.
Afterwards, the members of the university, deans of colleges and research centers managers, whom formations have been awarded, have given speeches, in which they thanked and appreciated the warm welcome and appreciation made by the presidency of the university and the continuous communication between the presidency and its formations. This communication is made clear through the adoption of the principle of quality and reliability through which the colleges looks for a good specialty and incompetent graduates, whether they are doctors, engineers, or specialists in other areas.
The Deans have all agreed, during their speeches, that the colleges have become looking for a graduate improved with high scientific information necessary to cope with the labor market, a fact which is definitely better in economic terms as the Iraqi universities have become productive universities.
It is a pleasure to honor the productive minds of the university's professors and students by crowning their productivity and scientific contribution. Thus, the winners have received an award from the University of Al- Nehrain which contained shields and certificates of appreciation from Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Sahib, president of the university.
The honoring included prizes for the best patented, which went to Prof. Dr. Hilal Shahab-Wahab, and prof. Dr. Abdul Wahid Baqer Abdul Redha from the Faculty of Science, and assist. professor Hazem Ismail Abdul Bari from the Bio-Technology research center.
For the best research publication, the prize went to Dr. Haider Ahmed Shomran from the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Osama Ali Awad from the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Imad Abdul Hussein Yousef from the Faculty of Science and Dr. Negham Hussein Ne'ama from the Faculty of Business and Economics.
As for the best doctoral thesis, the prize went for Haider Bahaa Sahib from the Faculty of Medicine, Mohammed Hussein Ali from the College of Engineering and Ibrahim Abdul-Mahdi Sadiq from the Faculty of Science and Saif Nusrat Tawfiq from the Faculty of Political Science.
For the best Master thesis, the award went to Haider Faleh Shamikh from the Faculty of Medicine, Dua'a Nofal Hazim from Engineering, Iaah Gamal Abdel Hamid from college of Science, and Rasha Hamid Raad from the Faculty of Political Science.
And finally the winner of the best graduation research project of the final stage students are Iaah Falah Mosa from the Faculty of Medicine, Alaa Refa'at Hamid from Engineering, Assad Hussein Dhary from the college of Science and Suraa Mofeq Jaafar from the Faculty of Political Science.
Mr. President of the University of Al- Nehrain Professor Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Sahib, has said during the opening of the research projects exhibition of the Faculty of Engineering, that this exhibition coincide with the honoring of the achievements of the university and the opening of the Engineering projects and laboratories, and for the continuation of this achievements and on the (28) occasion of the university's anniversary the creative and talented professors and students were honored with the university's Award. These awards have been recently approved in the Council of the League of professors and graduate students in scientific and humanitarian specializations.
Dr. Abdul-Sahib, has added that the aim of establishing this award is to encourage the creativity and excellence of the teachers and students in our university, which is making every effort to provide a supportive environment for academic creativity, excellence and innovation in the field of scientific research.
The cultural and artistic activities has continued during this Occasion. All faculties of the university have participated in it. The Rector Dr. Abdul-Sahib and his accompanying delegation have visited the exhibition, which has been held by the Faculty of Engineering with its various departments, and have seen the engineering designs and paintings. The participants have provide a detailed explanation of each device and the target of it and its importance in the community as well as the properties of each device.
Mr. Rector Dr. Abdul-Sahib has praised the artistic paintings painted by the students of engineering which decorated the hallways and gardens, as well as the manual artistic works provided by the female students which have won the admiration of the attendance. The President of the University has listened to a debate hosted by the students in the university's gardens which reflect the scientific and cultural awareness of the students of the University of Al- Nehrain.
Mr. Rector Dr. Abdul-Sahib has also visited the new building of the presidency of the university and met with members of the presidency. Moreover, and to enhance the employment's ties, a souvenir photos have been taken in front of the new building. The employees and the students have expressed their joy of this cheerful day by offering thanks and appreciation to the president of the university and all those who contributed to the success of this great festival.
