Dr. Istabraq Abdulrasool Al-Wasiti from the College of Medicine at Al-Nahrain University, in collaboration with national academic and healthcare institutions, has been granted an official patent issued by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Planning, for a distinguished scientific innovation in the field of cancer treatment.
The patent relates to the development of an innovative therapeutic formulation based on thyme extract, enhanced with gold and chromium nanoparticles using plasma jet technology. This approach aims to improve the effectiveness of Taxane-based chemotherapy in inhibiting the growth of breast cancer cells.
This achievement represents an advanced step in integrating modern technologies into the medical field, combining natural resources, nanotechnology, and conventional chemotherapy to enhance treatment efficiency and address the challenges of cancer cell resistance.
