Researcher Haya Ahmed Hadi from the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, Al-Nahrain University, presented her master’s thesis titled “Synthesis of Chalcone Derivatives and Study of Their Biological Activity.”
The study aimed to synthesize chalcone derivatives using efficient chemical techniques and evaluate their biological activity against bacteria, fungi, and cancer cells. It also sought to design compounds with enhanced biological properties that could contribute to the development of future pharmaceutical treatments.
The results revealed that some chalcone derivatives exhibited significant biological activity, highlighting their promising potential in pharmaceutical research and the development of new drugs to support disease-fighting efforts.
