The Assistant President of Al-Nahrain University for Scientific Affairs chairs a PhD thesis discussion at the College of Science

Dr. Omar Farouk Abdul Rashid, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, chaired a PhD thesis discussion in the Chemistry Department at the College of Science at Al-Nahrain University. The thesis focused on (measuring levels of betatrophin, endotrophin, kisspeptin, fincinn, and proteo-meteorin proteins in Iraqi women with polycystic ovary syndrome before and after adhering to a ketogenic diet) by PhD student Nizar Star Harb.

The thesis aimed to measure the impact of the ketogenic diet on the levels of a set of biomarker indicators (betatrophin, endotrophin, kisspeptin, fincinn, and proteo-meteorin) in Iraqi women with polycystic ovary syndrome.

The thesis found that the ketogenic diet could play an important role in improving insulin resistance and hormonal disorders in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of the ketogenic diet in managing this common health condition among women of reproductive age
