The College of Business Economics at Al-Nahrain University hosted a scientific seminar titled “The Impact of Climate Change on Sustainable Development: Iraq as a Model,” attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Nagham Hussein Naama, faculty members, and students.
The keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Nozad Abdulrahman Al-Hiti, a professor of political economy at the Diplomatic Institute and Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, delivered a detailed lecture on the challenges posed by climate change. He emphasized that climate change represents one of the most significant obstacles to achieving sustainable development goals.
The seminar explored the economic and social effects of climate change, including temperature variations, highlighting its impact not only on the agricultural sector but also on fundamental human rights and the overall potential for economic development.
