Abstract:
One of the important laser applications is the precise measurement of objects speed. The purpose of this project is to find a simple and non contact method of measuring the objects speed, by means of laser using time of flight technique. In this project it will be designed and constructed a system to measure object speed using time of flight technique.A system is simply based on two lasers of 635 nm wavelength, two photodiode detectors circuit, 8051 microcontroller circuit and using PC serial port interface has been designed to measure the speed of the objects. A two laboratory samples speed of (246 and 259) m/s have been measured using this system, when the distance between the two lasers beams was 0.14 m.
