Abstract:

Oxymetazoline hydrochloride ion selective electrodes were constructed. Construction was based on drug complex formation with dodeca-tungstophosphoric acid as ionophor and many plasticizer: Di -butyl phthalate (DBPH), Tri- butyl phosphate (TBP), O- nitrophenyloctylether (ONPOE), Di- octyl phthatale (DOP) in PVC matrix membranes. The matrix membrane was formed by mixing plasticizer and drug complexes with PVC. The properties of these electrodes were studies including: slope, correlation coefficient, concentration range, detection limit, PH effect, and life time also interferences were studied via selectivity against monovalent, divalent, trivalent studied by using separation and match method for determine the selectivity potential coefficient. The statistical treatments were applied for the results that including: Relative standard deviation (RSD), relative error (RE), mean error, confidence limit for potential. The electrodes No. (I, II, III, IV) based on DOP, DBPH, ONPOE, TBP respectively give linear range (10-1 -5_10-4, 10-1 -5_10-4, 10-1 -10-4, 10-1 -103) M with slope (60.8, 57.6, 58, 56.7) mV/decade. The Correlation coefficient are 0.9994, 0.9995, 0.9992, 0.9953), respectively and the limit of detection (4_10-4, 3_10-4, 1.5_10-4, 5_10-4) M. The life times were about (~ 90, ~ 49, ~ 48 hour, ~ 35) days respectively.
