Abstract:

This study includes preparation number of azo Purines and Pyrimidines derivatives were prepared by coupling of nitrogen bases with phenyl diazonium salt. To verify the prepared compound ultraviolet and visible spectrum (UV- Vis), Fourier transforms infrared spectrum (F.T.IR) and the ratios of (C.H.N) were calculated by specific analysis of the elements. These compounds are: 1. 8-(phenyl azo)-Adenine 2. 6-(3-Methyl -4-Amino phenyl azo)-Adenine 3. 6-(2-?-Naphtolyl azo)- Adenine 4. 6-( 2-Amino -anthrachinionyl azo)-Adenine 5. 6-(3-Methyl -4-Amino phenyl azo)-1,3dimethyl Uraci 6. 6-(2-?-Naphtolyl azo)- 1,3dimethyl Uraci 7. 6-( 2-Amino - anthrachinionyl azo)- 1,3dimethyl Uracil 8. 6-(3-Methyl -4-Amino phenyl azo)-Guanine 9. 6-(2-?-Naphtolyl azo)- Guanine 10. 6-( 2-Amino - anthrachinionyl azo)-Adenine Antibacterial and antifungi activity of the prepared compounds were done by using disc diffusion method on nutrient agar plate using two types of bacteria strains: Escheria coli and Staphylococus aureus and using three types of fungi: Candida albicans, Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes Bacterial growth was carried out at (37 0C) and fungi growth was carried out at(30 0C) some of prepared compounds show high ability to inhibit the growth of one or more of the above mentioned bacteria and fungi .
