Serum 4-Hydroxy-2-nonenal and Induced nitric oxide Synthase in Hypertension and Hypertension with kidney disease Patients

Hypertension (HT) And related diseases such as chronic kidney disease(CKD) share in that one of the main reasons for them is to increase the oxidative stress, which in turn increases the severity of the disease and exacerbation of symptoms. Reactive molecules produced from oxidative stress, in addition to causing tissue damage by oxidation of biomolecules like DNA, lipids, proteins and sugars; they are lead to the formation of mediators with potent inflammatory effect.

Aspirin is one of the most famous, cheapest, available and widely used drugs in the world in patient with a wide range of therapeutic uses for the treatment of inflammatory joint disease, prevention of thrombosis and many other causes due to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic antipyretic and antiplatelets effects. The present study was conducted as an attempt to study its effect on male reproduction to meagerness of scientific knowledge in this area. Aspirin was injected intraperitoneally to immature male mice at two doses: 5 and 25 mg/kg B.W.

Biofilm Production as a Virulence Factor in Uropathogenic Bacteria and Yeasts

This study included isolation and identification of different uropathogene (bacteria- yeasts) from catheterized patients suffering from complicated urinary tract infections, then detection the uropathogene ability to form biofilm as virulence factor responsible for initiation of infection and relationship between plasmids and antibiotics resistance . Study had been included the following steps:

Bacteriophage's Susceptibility of Escherichia coli Isolated from Patients with Urinary Tract Infections

In this study 227 urine samples were collected from patients suffering from symptoms referred as urinary tract infection. The urine samples were obtained from different hospitals in Baghdad during the period from 1 / 12 / 2006 to 15 / 3 / 2007. 180 (64.98%) urine samples gave positive bacterial growth on MacConkey agar and / or blood agar. The obtained positive cultures showed that 34 (18.89%) were Gram positive bacteria and 146 (81.11%) samples were Gram negative.

Preliminary study on the tolerance of two wheat varieties of Triticum aestivum L. to the crude oil at the whole and cellular level

In an attempt to enhance crude oil tolerance in tissue cultures and intact plants of Triticum aestivum L., several experiments were carried out. Callus was induced using embryos isolated from the seeds of the two wheat varieties (Abu Ghraib-3 and Dijila) which were used as explants. Callus was induced and maintained on Murashige and Skoog, 1962 medium (MS) supplemented with (0.5) mg/l kinetin and (2) mg/l 2,4-D. Crude oil was added to the culture medium at different concentrations as a contaminating agent.

Protective Effect of Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei used as probiotic agent against enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli in vitro and in vivo

Two isolates of Lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei) were obtained from previous study. These isolates were reidentified according to different morphological and biochemical tests. Ability of these two isolates as probiotic microorganisms were examined against enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) in vitro and in vivo. Results showed that L.

Impact of Psychological Stress on Some Hematological, Reproductive, and Hormonal Parameters of Al-Jaderriya Campus Students

In this study, the influence of psychological stress on male reproductive health and certain hematological and hormonal parameters was investigated. Ninety-eight healthy male students from Al-Jaderriya compass of Nahrain University were included in the study. The full medical history of subjects was studied. Depending on questionnaire form, 44 of subjects were classified as non-stressed (NS group) (age = 21.68 ± 0.29 years), while 27 subjects were moderately stressed (MS group) (age = 21.88 ± 0.39 years).
