Effect of Suaeda aegyptiaca extracts on some microorganisms In vivo and In vitro.
A series of experiments were conducted to evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of Suaeda aegyptiaca crude extracts against some pathogenic microorganisms as well as the therapeutical activity in vivo of combination of crude extracts of (alkaloids, phenols and terpens) on mice skin that previously infected with the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Chemical analysis showed that S. aegyptiaca contains different active compounds:
Studying some Immunological and Cytogenetic Effects of Plantago lanceolata Aqueous Extract in Albino Male Mice
The present study was designed to evaluate some immunological and cytogenetic effects of Plantago lanceolata aqueous extract and cyclophosphamide in albino male mice (in vivo). The immunological parameters were total and absolute counts of leucocytes, phagocytic index of peritoneal cells, total serum IgG level, hypersensitivity reactions (Arthus and delayed type), while cytogenetic evaluations included micronucleus formation in polychromatic erythrocytes of bone marrow ,metaphase index of bone marrow and spleen cells and sperm-head abnormalities.
Studying some Immunological and Cytogenetic Effects of Micromeria myrtifolia Extracts in Albino Male Mice
The present study was designed to evaluate some immunological and cytogenetic effects of Micromeria myrtifolia extracts (methanol and hexane) and methotrexate in albino male mice (in vivo). The immunological parameters were total and absolute counts of leucocytes, total serum IgG level and metaphase index of bone marrow and spleen cells, while cytogenetic evaluations included micronucleus formation in polychromatic erythrocytes of bone marrow and sperm-head abnormalities. Additionally, a chemical
Antimicrobial and Cytogenetic studies on the effect of Ocimum sanctum on albino male mice
The present study was carried out to investigate the chemical analysis of Ocimum sanctum for different active compounds, and prepare methanolic and hexane extracts to determine their antimicrobial activity (in vitro). The cytogenetic effects of (methanolic and hexane extracts) as well as methotrexate (MTX) was evaluated in albino male mice (in vivo). The cytogenetic analyses were extended to include mitotic index and chromosomal aberrations. The study also tried to investigate the role of O.
Extraction, partial purification and Characterization of Isoamylase produced by Locally isolated Psuedomonas
Eighty soil and sewage samples were collected from different environmental locations to isolate isoamylase producing Pseudomonas. From these samples, 100 isolates were obtained, among them 40 were identified as Pseudomonas sp. according to the morphological characteristics and biochemical tests. These isolates were screened to examine their ability in isoamylase production. Results showed that all these isolates were producers of isoamylase. An isolate (Pseudomonas sp.
Effect of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) tissue extracts on the growth of some skin infectious microorganisms
In an attempt to treat infection of mice skin using ethanolic extract of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) callus cultures. Several experiments were carried out. Callus was induced on leaf explants and maintained for 30 days on Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l of benzyl adenine and 2.0 mg/l of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Water and ethanolic extracts of R. officinalis leaves and callus cultures were investigated for their antimicrobial activity.
Biosorption of Heavy Metals by the Locally Isolated Pseudomonas spp.
A total of 110 samples were collected from different environments (waste waters, soil, and fresh waters) and locations in Baghdad governorate. Total isolates obtained from these samples were 85, 42 of them were suspected to be Pseudomonas spp. depending on their stability to grow on cetrimide agar.
Anti-mutagenic, Immune Modulator and Fertility Effects of Romary (Rosmarinus offcinalis) Extracts in Albino Male Mice
The present study was designed to evaluate the immunological, cytogenetic and fertility effects of two extracts (methanol and hexane) of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) leaves and stems in male albino mice. The immunological parameters included total and absolute counts of leucocytes and phagocytosis, while the cytogenetic evaluation was carried out through the detection of micronucleus formation in polychromatic erythrocytes and spermhead bnormalities. The fertility assessment was considered in terms of sperm count and otility.
Standardization of protoplast isolation, purification and fusion in tomato hybrids
In an attempt to achieve optimum conditions for protoplast isolation, purification and fusion in two tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) hybrids
