STUDY OF PHASE TRANSITIONS AND CRITICAL POINTS IN THE RARE-EARTH REGION IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE INTERACTING BOSON MODEL (IBM-1)
A systematic study of isotope chains in the rare–earth region is presented. For the chains 144 −154 60 , , , and energy levels, E2 transition rates, and two–neutron separation energies (S Nd −16014662
Some Genetic Changes in Lymphocytes and Bone Marrow Cells Associated with Yasmin Contraceptive Pills, Cafergot and Wild Carrot Seeds Oil in Women and Mice
This study was undertaken to figure out the effects of contraceptives pills "Yasmin", fungal alkaloids "Cafergot" and wild carrot seed oil on apoptosis, DNA damage (using comet assay), cytogenetic analysis (using micronucleus assay) in blood lymphocytes of mice as well as on pregnancy rate of female mice. The oral effects of contraceptive pills (Yasmin) on apoptosis, DNA damage, cytogenetic analysis and aromatase activity of women blood lymphocytes were also investigated.
Immunomodulatory Effects of Probiotics on Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium Isolated from Diarrheal Children in Albino Male Mice
This study aimed to determine the frequency of Salmonella Typhimurium and its multi-drug resistance (MDR) status as a diarrheal causative pathogen in children younger than five years old, as well as to investigate the role of four probiotic microorganisms(L.acidophillus,L.casei,S.cerevisiae,S.boulardi) in controlling such infection. For this purpose, 128 stool samples of patients (76 males and 52 females)
Production, Characterization and Genetic Study of Pantoeadispersa Producing Cellulase and pectinase
Soil samples were collected from fields cultivated with wheat and barley and from spoiled orange, apple fruits and carrot roots to enzyme isolate bacteria producing lytic. Bacterial isolates were screened for enzymes production on selective media containing carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) or pectin as a sole source for carbon and energy.
Investigating Heavy Metals Tolerance in Ruta graveolens In vivo and In vitro
Many experiments were carried out to investigate the ability of Ruta graveolens to tolerate heavy metals in vitro and to investigate molecular bases of heavy metals tolerance.
Antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity of active compounds of Withania somnifera extracts
In this study Withania somnifera leaves were collected from gardens of Al-Nahrain University. Then the leaves powder was used to get three type of extracts, each type of Withania extracts (water, ethanol and acetone extract) were subjected to chemical analysis to identify the active compounds in each extract which indicated that alkaloids, glycoside, saponins, flavonoids, fixed oil were present in ethanol, acetone and water extracts, while absent of terpene in water extract and protein in acetone extract, Tannins were not found in all extract types.
Osteoblast formation from MesenchymalStem Cells Derived from mouse Bone Marrow in vitro
This study was designed to evaluate osteogenic potential of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) isolated from mouse bone marrow in vitro. MSCs were isolated by collecting the thigh bone of 50 male albino mice, both the femur and tibia were collected and cells were flushed from bones and MSCs isolated based on the ability of adherence to plastic surfaces. Reactivity MSCs to CD105 and CD34 were tested by immunocytochemistry.
Production, Characterization and Immobilization of Laccase Enzyme from Bacillus cereus Local Isolate
In this study, fifty five soil samples were collected from different locations in Baghdad city. Many Gram positive and negative bacterial isolates were obtained;of which 39 were identified as Bacillus spp. upon subjecting to morphological and microscopic tests. Laccase enzyme activity was determined by quantitative methods using a syringaldazine as substrate for growth of these isolates. Results indicated that 17 of these isolates were laccase producer with different specific activity ranged between 98-600U/mg protein.
Study the Effect of Loranthus europaeus Extract on Wound Healing Process
Loranthus europaeus is an important medicinal plant, which contains a lot of bioactive compounds. The dried plant fruits were extracted in 80% methanol by maceration. Chemical detection of crud plant extracts was performed. The total flavonoids were isolated, subjected to thin layer chromatography (TLC) using different mobile systems. The purified material was augmented by using high performance liquid
Molecular Detection of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Isolated from Repeated Miscarriage Women and its Relation to TLR2 and ILT2 Receptors
This study was designed to determine a molecular status of Toll like Receptor 2 in repeated miscarriage women with cytomegalovirus. One hundred blood samples were collected from repeated miscarriage women with cytomegalovirus from infertility clinic of Kamal Al –Sammaraee hospital and (50) samples from normal subjects served as control for comparison and divided into two age groups:( 20-30) and (31-40) years old.
