The College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University welcomed postgraduate student Batoul Adnan from the Syrian Arab Republic as part of the “Study in Iraq” initiative launched by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.
Prof. Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering, stated that the college has so far admitted two undergraduate students and five postgraduate students across various departments. He explained that this initiative aligns with the ministry’s vision to strengthen international academic relations and attract foreign students while ensuring their smooth integration into the Iraqi academic community.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Mousawi, Director of the Cultural Relations Department at the university, highlighted the services provided to international students, including free education, visa issuance, coverage of residency costs, free housing in dormitories, as well as other services such as airport transportation, free internet, educational materials, and healthcare. These efforts aim to create a distinguished academic environment for foreign students.
