The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University held a discussion for the Ph.D. dissertation presented by student Laith Louay Saleh, titled: “The Political and Economic Implications of the Russia-Ukraine War on European Energy Security Post-2022.”
The dissertation examined the war’s effects on European energy security, focusing on key aspects such as Ukraine’s role as a transit state for Russian gas, the impact of sanctions on Russia, and the influence of European policies. It also analyzed the roles of the United States and NATO in the conflict.
The study highlighted European efforts to enhance energy security through renewable energy development and increased domestic fossil fuel production. It concluded by exploring future scenarios to maintain energy stability amidst ongoing geopolitical crises.
