The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University held the third International Scientific Conference on Biotechnology 2024, attended by the President of Al-Nahrain University, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, along with the President of Anbar University, the Director-General of the Biotechnology Research Center, college deans, faculty members, and students.
The conference included scientific lectures, with the first presented by Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, President of Anbar University, on the latest applications of biotechnology. Another lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Zohairy from Zagazig University in Egypt on the current and future applications of bioinformatics.
In his speech, the Director-General of the Biotechnology Research Center, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Sarhan Al-Halbousi, highlighted the research achievements and scientific outputs of the center, emphasizing the importance of awareness of biotechnology and its applications in various fields.
The conference, held under the slogan “Biotechnology: A Science of Today and the Future,” featured the participation of 113 research papers and scientific articles from different Arab and international countries. These covered diverse areas including medical, environmental, molecular, and botanical biotechnology, as well as physiological aspects.
The conference also included a poster exhibition showcasing research projects, along with a display of the latest devices and modern technologies used in the field of biotechnology.
The aim of the conference is to exchange ideas, scientific outputs, and expertise among researchers from different universities, as well as to present applied research that serves society and to encourage scientific research and innovation.
