Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Omar Farouk Abdul Rashid, as a member of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research team, concluded a visit to Germany. The visit focused on exploring the possibility of reactivating the DAAD scholarship agreement, as well as engaging with several research organizations. Representatives from the Iraqi Embassy in Berlin and the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council also attended the meetings.
The delegation also visited several German universities, including RWTH Aachen University and Humboldt University, to present the current status of Iraqi universities, highlight the capabilities of Iraqi research faculty, and discuss opportunities for joint research collaborations between both sides.
At the end of the visit, the team met with representatives from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including members of the Cultural and Academic Cooperation Department and the Africa and Middle East Division/Iraq Section. During the meeting, logistical arrangements were agreed upon to facilitate the entry of Iraqi students and professors into Germany.
