Prof.Dr. Alaa Hussein Abd, Assistant to the President of Al-Nahrain University for Administrative Affairs and Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, published a scientific research entitled “Corrosion and fatigue behavior of pure asphalt mixture modified using silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.” The research, which was conducted in cooperation with an instructor from the University of Baghdad, includes a study of the effect of nanomaterials on the properties of asphalt mixtures in terms of factors of flexibility, creep and rutting performance. The results showed that the modified mixtures with nanomaterials significantly outperformed over pure asphalt in reducing permanent deformation at high temperatures. . The research which was published in Alexandria Engineering Journal was issued in Elsevier's Publishing House and it lied in the first quarter of Clarivate containers, with an impact index of 6.2 and a Sitescore factor of 11.2.
