Detection of genotoxicity in mice (BALB/C mice)exposed to lead oxide.
Detection of genotoxicity in mice (BALB/C mice)exposed to lead oxide.
In this study, twenty male BALB/c mice were fed on lead oxide containing diet at 50 part per million (ppm) for four months. Tail biopsies were used for DNA isolation as normal genomic DNA before lead exposure to be compared with genomic DNA from liver and kidney after the exposure. Blood lead concentrations were measured using atomic-spectroscopy. Blood also drawn from each animal to examine phagocytic activity of peripheral blood leucocytes to engulf Candida albicans and results were compared with control group.
Biochemical study of Alcoholdehydrogenase produced from hydrocarbon utilizing pseudomonas Sp.
Number of efficient hydrocarbon utilizing bacteria of Pseudomonas spp. were tested for their ability to produce Alcoholdehydrogenase (ADH) enzyme. Pseudomonas sp. RB30 isolate was selected according to it's the highest ADH enzyme production, and this bacterium was identified as Pseudomonas fluorescens RB30. The enzyme was yielded the maximal volume activity of 0.34 U/ml when extracted by using lysozyme treatment as compared with low volume activity 0.19 U/ml resulted from sonication of the cells.
The effect of temperature, acidity (PH) and culture media on in vitro fertilization of mice Ova.
This research was conducted to study the in vitro fertilization of mice oocyte and the environmental factors which affect it.
Genetic and molecular study of male pattern baldness in Iraqi population.
Developmental study of the morphogenesis of the yeast candida albicans in response to some inducers and inhibitors.
This work was aimed to study the developmental patterns of the pathogenic yeast Candida albicans, therefore fifty isolates of Candida spp. were collected from different sources such as oral thrush, vagina, skin, hair and nail. These isolates were identified by biochemical and morphological tests, and it was found that the most isolates were belong to Calbicans(30isolates),the other identified species were :- C. dubliniesis, C. tropicalis, C.
Application of RAPD markers in the identification and genetic relationship assessment among a number of salt - tolerant bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines.
The objective of this work was the detection of DNA polymorphisms among seven salt-tolerant bread wheat {Triticum aestivum L.) lines provided by the Iraqi Atomic Energy Organization, and one variety (Maxipac) known to be salt-sensitive as a control. This was achieved by the of Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers. DNA polymorphisms obtained using RAPD analysis were used to tentatively identify all samples tested, and to determine the genetic distance (GD) and the genetic relatedness among them.
