شارك رئيس جامعة النهرين، الأستاذ الدكتور علي عبدالعزيز الشاوي، في حفل تكريم الجامعات العربية المتميزة في التصنيف العربي للجامعات لعام 2024، الذي نظمته جامعة الملك خالد في المملكة العربية السعودية بالتعاون مع اتحاد الجامعات العربية، بحضور نخبة من رؤساء الجامعات والمؤسسات الأكاديمية العربية.
ويهدف هذا الحدث إلى تكريم الجامعات التي حققت إنجازات أكاديمية وبحثية متميزة، وتسليط الضوء على جهودها في تطوير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي. كما يعكس التقدير الذي تحظى به الجامعات العربية التي تسعى لتحقيق معايير التميز الأكاديمي وتعزيز مكانتها الدولية.
وعلى هامش الحفل، انطلقت فعاليات منتدى “توجهات المستقبل” تحت شعار “الجامعات والتنمية المستدامة”، والذي يناقش دور الجامعات في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة من خلال التعليم والبحث العلمي والشراكات المجتمعية. ويشارك في المنتدى مجموعة من الأكاديميين والخبراء وصناع القرار من مختلف الدول العربية، لبحث الاستراتيجيات التي تسهم في تطوير منظومة التعليم العالي وتعزيز دور الجامعات في التنمية.
ويأتي هذا الحدث كمنصة مهمة لتبادل الخبرات والتجارب الناجحة بين الجامعات العربية، وتعزيز سبل التعاون المشترك، بما يسهم في دعم التعليم والبحث العلمي، وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة على مستوى المنطقة.

President of Al-Nahrain University Participates in the Arab Universities Honor Ceremony in Saudi Arabia
The President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, participated in the Arab Universities Honor Ceremony for the 2024 Arab University Rankings, organized by King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Association of Arab Universities. The event was attended by a distinguished group of university presidents and academic institution representatives from across the Arab world.
This event aimed to recognize universities that have achieved outstanding academic and research accomplishments and to highlight their efforts in advancing higher education and scientific research. It also reflects the appreciation for Arab universities striving to meet academic excellence standards and enhance their international standing.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the “Future Trends Forum” was launched under the theme “Universities and Sustainable Development”, focusing on the role of universities in achieving sustainable development goals through education, research, and community partnerships. The forum brings together academics, experts, and policymakers from various Arab countries to discuss strategies that contribute to the advancement of higher education and strengthen the role of universities in development.
This event serves as a significant platform for exchanging experiences and successful practices among Arab universities, fostering collaboration, and supporting education and research efforts to achieve sustainable development across the region.
