نظم مركز بحوث التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين ندوة علمية بعنوان “جدري القرود: المشاكل، الأسباب، والحلول”، بهدف تسليط الضوء على احتمالية انتشار المرض كجائحة، والتعرف على أعراضه، وأسبابه، ومدى خطورته على المصابين بالأمراض المزمنة. كما سعت الندوة إلى تعزيز الوعي الصحي وتقديم الحلول الوقائية والعلاجية للحد من انتشاره.
شهدت الندوة حضور مدير عام المركز، الأستاذ الدكتور محمد محمود فرحان، فيما ترأس الجلسة الأستاذ الدكتور حسن محمد نايف من جامعة الشعب. وشارك في تقديم المحاضرات الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور مروان ميثم محمد من جامعة البصرة، والأستاذ المساعد الدكتورة غيداء حسين التي عملت مقررة للندوة.
كما تضمنت الندوة محاضرات متخصصة قدمها المدرس المساعد عبد الأمير جواد والمدرس المساعد منقذ مجيد من قسم التقنيات الأحيائية البيئية، تناولت التأثيرات الصحية للمرض وسبل الحد من انتشاره.

Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Scientific Seminar on Monkeypox
The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific seminar titled “Monkeypox: Issues, Causes, and Solutions,” aiming to highlight the possibility of the disease spreading as a pandemic, identify its symptoms and causes, and assess its severity, particularly for individuals with chronic illnesses. The seminar also aimed to raise health awareness and present preventive and therapeutic solutions to limit its spread.
The seminar was attended by the Director General of the Center, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Farhan, and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohammed Naif from Al-Shaab University. The event featured contributions from Asst. Prof. Dr. Marwan Maytham Mohammed from the University of Basrah, with Asst. Prof. Dr. Ghaidaa Hussein serving as the seminar rapporteur.
Specialized lectures were also delivered by Asst. Lecturer Abdul Ameer Jawad and Asst. Lecturer Munqith Majeed from the Department of Environmental Biotechnology, focusing on the health impacts of the disease and strategies to control its spread.
