أعلنت مؤسسة “تايمز للتعليم العالي” عن تصنيف الجامعات العربية لعام 2024، حيث أظهرت جامعة النهرين تقدماً ملحوظاً في ترتيبها، إذ احتلت الجامعة المرتبة الخامسة على مستوى العراق والـ42 على مستوى الجامعات العربية، مقارنة بالعام الماضي، حيث كانت في المرتبة السابعة عراقياً والـ71 عربياً.
ويعكس هذا التقدم الكبير التزام جامعة النهرين بتحسين جودة التعليم والبحث العلمي وتعزيز مكانتها الأكاديمية في المنطقة. كما يعد ثمرة للجهود المستمرة في تطوير مراكز البحث العلمي وزيادة التخصصات الأكاديمية المتقدمة، إضافة إلى توفير بيئة تعليمية تدعم الابتكار والتفوق الأكاديمي.
وقال رئيس جامعة النهرين الأستاذ الدكتور علي عبد العزيز الشاوي، ان جامعة النهرين تسعى باستمرار إلى تحسين موقعها الأكاديمي على المستويين المحلي والعالمي، وتعزيز سمعتها كمؤسسة تعليمية رائدة في المنطقة، مما يساهم في تطوير المجتمع وتحقيق المزيد من الإنجازات الأكاديمية.
واضاف الشاوي، إن هذا التقدم الكبير في تصنيف التايمز للجامعات العربية هو نتيجة للجهود المستمرة والمخلصة التي تبذلها الجامعة في تطوير التعليم والبحث العلمي. نحن فخورون بما حققناه هذا العام، ونسعى باستمرار لتطوير مراكز البحث وتعزيز التخصصات العلمية المتقدمة لتلبية احتياجات المجتمع الأكاديمي، واكد إن جامعة النهرين تواصل سعيها لتحسين موقعها الأكاديمي على المستويين المحلي والدولي، وتحقيق مزيد من التميز في جميع مجالات التعليم والبحث العلمي.”
ويأتي هذا التقدم بعد إعلان تصنيف “التايمز” للجامعات العربية، حيث تصدّر العراق قائمة الدول من حيث عدد الجامعات المصنفة. حققت خمس وأربعون جامعة عراقية نتائج إيجابية في تصنيف (Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024)، مما يبرز التفوق الأكاديمي في البلاد. شمل التصنيف 238 مؤسسة من 16 دولة، وغطى مؤشرات متعددة في مجالات التدريس، بيئة البحث، جودة مخرجات البحث، التوجهات الدولية، والمساهمة المجتمعية.

Al-Nahrain University Achieves Progress in the Times Higher Education Arab University Ranking 2024
The Times Higher Education organization announced the 2024 Arab University Rankings, showcasing significant progress for Al-Nahrain University. The university ranked 5th in Iraq and 42nd in the Arab region, compared to last year’s ranking of 7th locally and 71st regionally.
This remarkable achievement reflects Al-Nahrain University’s commitment to improving the quality of education, advancing scientific research, and enhancing its academic standing in the region. It is the result of ongoing efforts to develop research centers, increase advanced academic specializations, and provide an educational environment that fosters innovation and academic excellence.
The President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, stated that the university continuously strives to enhance its academic position locally and globally, building its reputation as a leading educational institution in the region, contributing to community development, and achieving greater academic accomplishments.
Dr. Al-Shawi added, “This significant progress in the Times Higher Education Arab University Ranking is a result of the university’s continuous and dedicated efforts to improve education and scientific research. We are proud of this year’s achievements and remain committed to developing research centers and enhancing advanced scientific specializations to meet the needs of the academic community. Al-Nahrain University continues its pursuit of academic excellence on both local and international levels, aiming for further distinction in all fields of education and research.”
This progress comes after the announcement of the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings, where Iraq led the list of countries with the highest number of ranked universities. Forty-five Iraqi universities achieved positive results in the Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2024, highlighting the academic excellence in the country. The ranking included 238 institutions from 16 countries and evaluated multiple indicators, including teaching, research environment, research output quality, international outlook, and societal contributions.
