نظمت كلية الحقوق في جامعة النهرين، ورشة عمل بعنوان “مصطلح الجندر ودلالاته الاجتماعية وبدائله”، ألقاها الدكتور أنور شناوي ذياب، بمشاركة عدد من أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية والطلاب. تناولت الورشة مواضيع هامة تهدف إلى تعزيز الفهم الصحيح للمصطلحات الاجتماعية وتأثيراتها في المجتمع.
تضمنت الورشة محورين رئيسيين، حيث تم في المحور الأول التعريف بالمجمع العلمي
العراقي وجهوده في تعريب المصطلحات العلمية، وأوضح الدكتور شناوي أهمية تلك الجهود في تطوير وتبسيط المصطلحات بما يتناسب مع القيم والمفاهيم الاجتماعية للمجتمع العراقي.
أما في المحور الثاني، فقد تم مناقشة دلالات استعمال مصطلحي “الجندر” و”النوع الاجتماعي”، مع التأكيد على أهمية الحذر من ترويج الأفكار الغريبة عن مجتمعنا من خلال استخدام مصطلحات قد تحمل دلالات تخالف الآداب العامة وتقاليد المجتمع. كما تم عرض نماذج من استعمال هذه المصطلحات في المخاطبات الرسمية والقوانين، مع ذكر البدائل المقترحة لاستعمالها بما يتناسب مع القيم الاجتماعية.
Al-Nahrain Law Organizes a Workshop on The Term Gender, Its Social Connotations and Alternatives
College of Law in Al-Nahrain University organizes a workshop entitled The term Gender, Its social Connotations and Alternatives which is presented by Dr. Anwar Shinawi Dhiyab with the participation of a number of teaching staff and students. The workshop addresses important topics which are aimed for enhancing the correct understanding of social terminologies and their effects on society.
The workshop included two main themes. At the first one, they introduce the Iraqi Scientific Academy and its efforts to transliterate scientific terminologies. Dr. Shinawi explains the importance of these efforts in developing and simplifying terminologies in a way that is consistent with the values and social concepts of Iraqi society.
At the second one, the connotations of the use of the terms gender and type are discussed emphasizing the importance of caution of promoting ideas that are foreign to our society through the use of terms that may carry connotations that violate public morals and traditions of the society . Examples of the use of these terms in official correspondence and laws are presented with mentioning suggested alternatives for using them in a manner consistent with social values.
