The University of Nahrein organizes a symposium on violence against women.

 

The Center for Biotechnology Research at the University of Nahrein, in collaboration with the Za'faraneya Women's Forum and Community Police, organized a humanitarian symposium on violence against women.
 
The symposium included lectures by the international trainer Laila Shahid, the training officer in the National Program for Peaceful Coexistence and a member of the Arab Women's Free League, and trainer Janan Saliwa Yuhanna. They spoke about the reality of combating violence against women. Rights activist Arij Hasan Qahtan also gave a lecture on laws related to protecting women.
 
Assistant Professor Nawar Rashdi from the Environmental Department gave a lecture on the history of combating violence against women, and Assistant Professor Sari Saad Talib discussed women's empowerment and their role in society from within the center. Additionally, Lawyer Ahmed Ashour gave a lecture on the role of community police in combating violence against women, and Lieutenant Ruayn Abdul Hadi discussed the various types of violence and the legal procedures associated with it.
 
The aim of the symposium was to highlight the role of community police and women's forums in combating violence against women, coinciding with the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
