INVESTIGATION OF NANO AND MICRO ALUMINA PARTICLES IN ALUMINUM MATRIX BY USING POWDER METALLURGY TECHNIQUE

In this research, ceramic alumina particles are used as an additive to the aluminum  metal in order to fabricate new composite and to study the alumina effect on the  improvement of properties and characterizing the new properties of the composites taking into  consideration the main aluminum drawback property of low wear  resistance. In the presented thesis, micro and nano alumina particles have been used  as a reinforcement for the aluminum matrix by using powder metallurgy technique  and with three different percentages of alumina (5, 10 and 15wt.%).

DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF A NON-ARTICULATED PROSTHETIC FOOT USING DEVELOPED COMPOSITE MATERIALS

Prosthetic foot is considered one of the most important parts of prosthetic limbs because it is in direct contact with the ground and supporting the body of amputee. Developing designs and materials of prosthetic feet are very important field so as to improve their characteristics to produce better satisfaction for amputees. In this work, previous designs are studied, and new design foot was modeled depending on Niagara foot design. Three groups of new composite materials are prepared. First group is manufactured from polyethylene as a matrix and chopped carbon fibers.

CHARACTERIZATION OF SHEET METAL FORMABILITY OF BRASS CuZn30, GALVANIZED STEEL AND 1060 ALUMINUM ALLOY

In this work, the effect of annealing temperature on the formability of three different alloys (Brass CuZn30, Galvanized steel and 1060 Aluminum alloy) sheets was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. A range of annealing temperature, strain rate, and different lubrication conditions to determine best parameters for satisfactory metal forming.
