There are many types of robots that are used in various sectors, including the industrial sector. The robots are Automatic devices that can be adapted and re-programmed, moreover it is a technical science, engineering mechanism design, and manufactured, arranged, and structural application. To learn more about this kind of Advanced Science, the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering has arranged a scientific seminar entitled (Smart Robot Prospects and Applications Systems).
The seminar included four specialized lectures that has reflected the latest developments in the subject of robotics and focused on the use of the intelligent systems and its various applications.
The first lecture entitled (Robotics in Iraq) has been ditched by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Zaki Alfaaez, Dean of the College of Information Technology Engineering at Al- Nehrain University. It shed light on the history of robots in Iraq in terms of its scientific application and research area and it gave a summary of the researches achievements in the College of Information Technology Engineering and Computer Engineering Department (Faculty of Engineering) at the University of Al- Nehrain, which have been accomplished by postgraduate students, especially in the field of medical applications.
The second lecture dealt with (Exoskeleton Robots ). It has been Presented by Dr. Firas Abdullah Thuwaini, a professor at the Faculty of Engineering. It showed the importance of this new technology in civil and military fields, as well as medical applications for people with special needs ( those suffering from the loss of limbs or eyesight)
Dr. Mehadi chelo Ma'ari, from the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has gave a lecture about (Smart Robot Industrial Uses). It presented the latest Smart robot Systems newly available in the Ministry of Industry. It focused on the use of Blur and genetic control system in robotics work which is practically used in the Ministry of Industry and Minerals
The last lecture was entitled (Flying Robot). It has been delivered by Dr. Wa'el Rashid Abdul Majeed, from the Faculty of Khwarizmi Engineering / University of Baghdad. It give a presentation about the multiple kinds of the Flying Robot and its various applications in the field of disasters and agriculture; it also touched upon the future prospects for this type of robot .
The seminar has come up with many recommendations such as; to support the researches about the robot systems to meet the market needs in industrial installations and the security department; the cooperation between the departments of the Faculty of Engineering and the College of Information Technology Engineering in supplying the robot systems applications to meet with the needs of those with special needs ( those suffering from the loss of upper and lower limbs); the cooperation in the importation of the devices and equipment that serve the undergraduate and postgraduate students in their researches; the establishment of a research center at the University of Al- Nehrain to meet with the subject of robotics.
