
The College of Pharmacy at Al-Nahrain University concluds the activities of its Second International Scientific Conference, held under the slogan:
“From Knowledge to Practice… Pharmaceutical Education that Makes an Impact,” with distinguishes scientific and academic participation. The second day of the conference features discussions of submitted research papers and posters, along with specialized lectures and high-quality training workshops aim at developing students’ skills and preparing them for the labor market.
The second day also includes a specialized lecture by pharmacist Dr. Ihsan Al-Naqeeb, in which he addresses the role of pharmaceutical media in shaping graduates’ career paths. He highlightes the skills required in the job market, mechanisms for building practical experience, and ways to enhance the pharmacist’s presence across various fields of work. The lecture witnesses notable engagement from fifth-year students, who they confirm that they benefited from its practical contents.

The events also saw the launch of a series of training workshops, including a specialized workshop for fifth-year students titled:
“Who Are You Beyond Your Degree? Mindset, Skills & Career Identity,”
presented by Dr. Omar Mohammed Ahmed, Dr. Noor Sabah, and Assistant Lecturer Ali Qasim Jawad. The workshop focuses on building the professional identity of pharmacists, developing mindset and leadership skills, and enhancing the added value of graduates in the healthcare job market, in alignment with modern professional demands.
The conference concluded with several important recommendations, most notably: enhancing the practical aspect of pharmaceutical education, updating curricula to align with labor market requirements, supporting field training programs, developing students’ skills in English and modern technologies, promoting entrepreneurship concepts, linking pharmaceutical education with scientific research, and broadening awareness of diverse career paths. These efforts aim to prepare graduates capable of competitiveness and innovation in the healthcare sector.
