
The Human Rights Division at the Presidency of Al-Nahrain University, in cooperation with the High Commission for Human Rights – Green Zone Office, and with the participation of officials from Human Rights Units across the university’s various departments, organized a workshop titled “The Approved Mechanisms for Documenting Human Rights Violations.”
The workshop aimed to empower personnel working in the field of human rights and to build both a theoretical and practical knowledge framework among participants regarding internationally recognized documentation methodologies. This included evidence collection, information verification, and the preparation of human rights reports, thereby strengthening the role of academic institutions in supporting human rights principles.
The workshop also addressed several key topics related to mechanisms for documenting violations in accordance with international standards, emphasizing the importance of accuracy and objectivity in gathering and documenting information. In addition, it discussed the role of Human Rights Units within academic institutions in monitoring human rights issues and promoting a culture of human rights among students and staff.
