Because of the practical importance of galvanic corrosion arises the need to study the effect of corrosion inhibitors, area ratio of cathode to anode (Ac/A), rotational velocities of specimens on galvanic corrosion of several industrially important metals and also to follow the behavior of corrosion rate.
In this work it is attempted to find a model describes potential,current, and concentration distributions in addition to hydrodynamicstudy along an electrochemical fluidized bed reactor. Electrochemicalfluidized bed reactor consists of a bed of particles which fluidizes andexpands by an upward moving electrolyte. An electrical potentialdifference is applied between the upper and lower parts of the bed which induces the electrochemical reaction to take place on thesurfaces of the particles.
By achieving simulation of hydrodynamics in a bubble column reactor,have taken an important step towards designing an efficient slurry reactor for large-scale conversion of synthesis gas to liquid hydrocarbons. This work presents the study of fluid flow through a packed bed, where two fluids were used separately (air and water). The packed bed contains spherical glass particles distributed randomly.The packed bed was 7.62 cm in diameter and 57 cm long. The glass particles were 0.42, 0.50, 0.61, 0.79 and 1.01 cm in diameter. Different flow rates of fluid were used which expressed by modified Reynolds number. The experiments were carried out at laboratory temperatures (32 ◦C) for air flow and at tap water temperature (25 ◦C) for water flow.
This study deals with the recovery of the energy available in hot and cold streams that exchanging heat. This can be done by heat exchanger network, to minimize the cost and the use of utilities. The transfer of energy from the hot stream to the cold stream depends on the rate of flow, area of the exchanger, the heat transfer coefficient and temperature gradient along each stream.
This investigation covers a study of the thermal expansion of basic lubricating oils. The three types of Iraqi base lube oil –Stocks, namely 40 Stock, 60 Stock, 150 Stock and also lubricating oil with additives from Al -Dura refinery. The investigation also covers the effect of additives on the thermal expansion coefficient of a lubricating oil.
